Create a Landing Page

Mailchimp landing pages can help you grow your audience and promote products and services. Published landing pages are easy to share on the web or in other Mailchimp campaigns, so you can start to drive traffic immediately. And if your page has a signup form, you can tag anyone who subscribes.

In this article, you'll learn how to create and manage a landing page in Mailchimp.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

• Take a moment to learn about Landing Pages in Mailchimp.
• Landing pages must be associated with an audience in your account. After you publish your page, you cannot change the audience.
• The landing page builder doesn’t prevent you from publishing default content in your layout. We strongly recommend you preview your landing page and review your settings before you publish.
• iframes and custom HTML can't be used in landing pages.
• Because merge tags pull individual contact data from your audience, they can't be used in public landing pages.
• Your account user level must be Manager or higher to add tags to landing pages.

Create a landing page

First, you'll name your new landing page and choose an audience. If your landing page includes a signup form, new subscribers will be added to this audience.

To create your landing page, follow these steps.

1. Click the Create icon.
   
2. Click Landing Page.
   
3. Type a name for your landing page. This name is for your reference, and isn't visible to landing page visitors.
   
4. Use the drop-down menu to select an audience.
5. Click Begin.
   

Great work! This will take you to the landing page builder.

Design your content

Now you'll choose a template and add your content. Some templates are specifically designed to collect subscribers or promote products, but you can add a signup form block or product block to any layout.

To design your landing page, follow these steps.

1. Click the template you want to use.

2. In your layout, customize or add content blocks as needed. If you need some inspiration, check out our design tips. Note: Some landing page templates include a logo placeholder, which is designed to automatically pull in your default brand logo. 3. Click Preview in the upper-right corner to see what your page will look like.
4. After you've designed and previewed your content, click Save & Close.
   

After you save your design, you'll add a page title and URL, add tags if necessary, and review your settings and tracking.

Add a page title

Now you’ll pick a page title. The page title appears in visitors' web browsers, so make sure they describe the content.

To add a page title, follow these steps.

1. In the Page Title section of the landing page builder, click Add Page Title.
2. Type the text you want visitors to see in their browser’s title bar and click Save.
   

Add a URL

Now you’ll add a URL. You can create a free URL for your landing page using the Mailchimp domain, or customize your Landing Page URL with a domain you’ve connected or purchased in Mailchimp.

To add a URL for your landing page, follow these steps.

1. In the URL section of the landing page builder, click Add URL.
2. Choose to Use a custom domain or Use a Mailchimp domain.
3. Click the drop-down to choose the custom or Mailchimp domain you want to use, then type the rest of the URL in the available field.
4. When you’ve finished, click Save.

Edit audience and tags

Here you can confirm or change the audience associated with your landing page. If your layout includes a signup form, you can also choose to add up to five tags to any contact who subscribes through the landing page.

To add tags to contacts who sign up through your landing page, follow these steps.

1. In the Audience and Tags section of the landing page builder, click Edit Audience.
   If your landing page doesn’t include a signup form, this section will be labeled Audience.
2. Confirm the correct audience is shown in the drop-down menu. The audience can be changed only before you publish.
3. Click the plus (+) icon to open the tags menu, then choose or add up to 5 tags as needed.
4. Click Save.

Edit settings and tracking

In the Settings & Tracking section, you can add Track with Mailchimp, Facebook Pixel, or Google Analytics on your landing page. We’ll also let you know if reCAPTCHA is enabled.

Before you can use tracking on your landing page, you must agree to our additional terms of use.

To edit the tracking options for your landing page, follow these steps.

1. Scroll to the Settings & Tracking section and click Edit.
   
2. Click Accept to confirm you agree to our additional terms. You’ll only need to accept the terms once.
3. Check the boxes next to the tracking options you want to enable.
   • Our Track with Mailchimp feature counts the number of unique visitors to your landing page and adds this data to your campaign report. If your page includes a signup form content block, you’ll also see how many page visitors subscribed to your audience, which we refer to as conversions. 4. Click Save.

That’s it! As soon as you publish, we'll start gathering data as people visit and interact with your page on the web.

Publish your landing page

When you're ready, click the Publish button to publish your landing page.

After you publish, your page will be live on the web but unindexed so no one will see it until you share the link. We'll compile report data as people visit your page and sign up for your marketing or make purchases.

After you publish

After you publish, it's time to drive traffic to your landing page so you can start seeing results. Here are a few things you can do.

• Promote your page
  Promote and share your page with your contacts through other campaigns you create in Mailchimp. Create an automation for your landing page subscribers or customers, run an ad for your landing page, or link to your page from a regular email campaign. You can also share the custom URL for your landing page on any social media platform.

  If your landing page includes a signup form, you can automatically tag people when they subscribe. You can then use tag or signup source data to filter your audience into segments for targeted campaigns, like an automated welcome series or special offer.

Manage landing pages

After you’ve published a landing page you can edit, unpublish, or delete it.

Edit a Landing Page

You can make changes to your landing page title, URL, design, and tracking settings at any time. After you publish, you won’t be able to change the associated audience, but you can still add or edit tags if your page includes a signup form.

To edit your landing page, follow these steps.

1. Click the Campaigns icon.
   
2. Click All campaigns.
   
3. If you have more than one audience, click the Current audience drop-down and choose the one associated with your landing page.
4. Click the drop-down menu for the page you want to work with, and click Edit.
   
5. Make any desired changes to your page.
6. When you're ready, click Save and Publish to immediately publish changes.

Way to go! Your changes are now live on the web.

Unpublish a Landing Page

To unpublish a landing page, follow these steps.

1. Click the Campaigns icon.
   
2. Click All campaigns.
   
3. If you have more than one audience, click the Current audience drop-down and choose the one associated with your landing page.
4. Click the drop-down menu for the page you want to work with, and click Unpublish.
   
5. In the pop-up modal, type UNPUBLISH, and click Unpublish.
   

You can leave your landing page unpublished, edit and republish it, or delete it.

Delete a Landing Page

When you delete a landing page from your account, you'll also lose all its reporting data. We strongly recommend you unpublish landing pages you want to take offline, but keep the campaign in your Mailchimp account so you can access its data.

Both unpublished and deleted landing pages will display a 404 page not found message when someone attempts to visit the URL. If you still need to delete a landing page, check out Delete Campaigns from Your Account.
