Connect or Disconnect Mailchimp for Square
Mailchimp for Square syncs your Square store's products to Mailchimp. It also collects purchase and customer details from your Mailchimp landing pages. Use this information to grow your audience, send targeted campaigns, or sell products directly from a landing page. You can even add and edit your products in Mailchimp.
In this article, you’ll learn how to connect or disconnect Mailchimp for Square, and how to manage products in Mailchimp.
Before you start
Here are a few things to know before you begin this process.
- Mailchimp for Square will only sync customer and purchase data generated through Mailchimp's landing pages.
- Mailchimp for Square allows you to connect a single Square location to your Mailchimp account.
- Before you connect your store, you’ll need to accept our additional terms of service.
- Square products can be added to Payment content blocks only. Product content blocks and Product Recommendation blocks don’t support Square products at this time.
- If you’re using a Payment content block, make sure the address in your account’s billing settings is set to a country that’s currency matches what you have set in Square.
Connect Mailchimp for Square
To install the integration, you'll need to connect your Square store to Mailchimp, choose the audience you want to sync with Square, and select a Square location.
To connect your Square account to Mailchimp, follow these steps.
- In your Mailchimp account, navigate to the Square integration page.
- Click Connect.
- Enter your Square username and password. Click Sign In.
- Review the permissions request, then click Allow.
- Use the drop-down to choose an audience.
- Click Next.
- Choose a Square location from the drop-down to sync with your Mailchimp account.
- Click Next.
- When you store is connected, click All Done.
Good job! Once your store completes its sync, setup is complete. With your Square store connected, you can use the payment content block in landing pages.
View site details
In your Mailchimp account, you can visit the Integrations page to view the site details for your Square store.
From here, you'll be able to view the connection status, your synced audience, change your Square location, and refresh and manage products in your Square account.
Whenever you add a new item to your Square store, or update an existing item, you can sync to your Mailchimp account from the Integrations page.
Sync Products
To sync your items from Square, navigate to the Product Settings section of the integration details page, then click the drop-down menu and choose Refresh Products.
Mailchimp also syncs with your Square account whenever you access a Payment content block.
Edit a Product
Edit product details from the integration page in Mailchimp and we’ll automatically send the changes to your Square account.
To edit a product in Mailchimp, follow these steps.
- Navigate to the Integrations page for your Square store.
- Click Manage Your Sites.
- In the Product Settings section, click Manage Products.
- In the Select a Product modal, search for the product you want to edit, and click Edit.
- Update the Title, Image, Description, Price, or SKU as needed.
- Click Save.
Good job! Any changes you make will appear in your Square account.
Add a New Product
Add a brand new product from the Integrations page in Mailchimp, and we’ll sync it to your Square account. The title and price are the only fields required to add a new product. You can also add products to a Payment content block.
To add a new product, follow these steps.
- Navigate to the Integrations page for your Square store.
- Click Manage Your Sites.
- Click Manage Products.
- Click Add.
- In the Title field, type your product’s name.
- Click Browse to open your computer’s file manager and choose an image. Or, drag and drop an image from your computer into the Select a product modal.
- In the Description field, type a description of your product.
- In the Price field, type the price of your product. Your new product must be at least $1.
- In the SKU field, type the SKU of your product.
- Click Save.
Nice! Your new product will automatically sync to your Square store.
Disconnect Mailchimp for Square
To disconnect Mailchimp for Square, follow these steps.
In your Mailchimp account, click the Integrations icon.
On the Square site details page, click Manage Your Sites.
- Click Disconnect.
- In the Are You Sure? modal, click Continue.
- Choose a reason you want to disconnect your integration, and click Disconnect.
