Manage Contacts on Mobile
The Mailchimp mobile app offers a few ways to manage your contacts.
In this article, you’ll learn how to view, tag, and remove contacts on mobile.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

View a contact
Every contact in your audience has a profile with data you can view about that person.
To view a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Tap All contacts.
- Search or scroll to find the contact you want to view, and tap their name.
You’ll see your contact’s profile where we include specific details about your contact.
- Marketing status
We’ll display a label so you know if your contact is subscribed, unsubscribed, pending confirmation, transactional, or cleaned. - Contact’s engagement
See how often your contact engages with your email campaigns. - Details
You'll see your contact’s email address, name, phone number, and other audience field information. Click the email address or phone number to email, call, or text them individually. - Contact activity
We'll show you a visual timeline of your contact’s engagement. - Notes
You can add, edit, or view any notes about your contact.
Tag a contact
Tagging lets you bring your own contact structure into Mailchimp and label contacts based on data that you know about them. After you have some contacts in your audience, you can organize them with tags.
To tag a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Tap All contacts.
- Search or scroll to find the contact you want to work with, and tap their name.
- On the contact’s profile page, tap the link in the Tags section.
- Use the search bar to find existing tags, or type to create a new one.
- Check the buttons next to the tags you want to add to the contact.
- When you’re done, tap Save.
The tags are now added to your contact.
Remove a contact
There are a few ways to remove a contact from the mobile app. You can unsubscribe your contact from your marketing campaign, archive them from your audience and keep their campaign data, or permanently delete them from your account.
To remove a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Tap All contacts.
- Search or scroll to find the contact you want to work with, and tap their name.
- On the contact’s profile page, tap Edit in the Details section.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll find options to Unsubscribe, Archive, or Delete the contact.
That’s it! If you delete a contact, you permanently remove all of their information from your audience. If you need to reduce your contact count but don’t want to lose any data, we recommend you archive contacts rather than delete them.
