Mailchimp may collect Goods and Services Tax (GST), according to jurisdictional requirements for your country. Tax is determined based on the primary contact address listed in your account.
In this article, you'll learn more about GST, and how to update your tax information in your Mailchimp account.
Add your tax ID number
If you have a tax ID number for your business, add it to the billing contact information in your account to make sure your information is correct.
To add or edit your tax ID number, follow these steps.
Click your profile icon and choose Account.
Click the Billing drop-down menu and choose Billing information.
- Click Edit billing contact info.
- In the pop-up modal, use the radio buttons to let us know how you use Mailchimp.
- Enter your tax ID number in the field provided.
- Click Save.
All set. Thanks for updating your information! Your company's tax ID will now display on your Mailchimp receipts. And if you're subject to collection, we'll let you know on your next bill.
About Australia's GST
Australia's government charges GST on international sales of digital products and services. This tax may apply to your Mailchimp account.
To make sure we have the right information on file for you, please update your GST registration information in the Billing information section of your account.
Add or edit your Australian Business Number (ABN)
We will not collect GST with your payments if you have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and your business is GST registered. If you have an ABN for your business, please add it to your account to ensure your tax information is accurate.
To add or edit your ABN and GST registration information, follow these steps.
Click your profile icon and choose Account.
Click the Billing drop-down menu and choose Billing information.
- Click Edit billing contact info.
- Use the provided buttons to let us know if you have GST registration.
- If you have an ABN, type it in the field provided.
- Click Save.
